Starting in 2019, Southern Kitchen PDX recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. Co-owners Maurice Fain and Jermaine Atherton developed recipes that feature a healthy take on ribs, red beans and rice, and other Southern-style comfort foods.

The menu is based on recipes handed down to Maurice from his great-grandmother, who taught him how to cook as he was growing up in Georgia. He then introduced his own twist by adding seasonings and that reflect his Haitian heritage.

Their hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and noon to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The food truck is closed Monday and Tuesday. In addition to walk-up service and delivery via GrubHub and UberEats, Southern Kitchen PDX offers drop-off and full service catering.

Bike Powered Smoothies. Moberi is committed to fueling a happy and healthy lifestyle. Moberi offers Acai bowls and smoothies designed to give you energy throughout the day. In 2011, Ryan Carpenter was looking for a way to make healthy food more fun. After seeing how a Guatemalan village used bikes to power equipment, he took his savings of $500 and got to work.

In the Spring of 2011, Moberi began on a NW Portland sidewalk with a single bike powered blender and cooler full of Willamette Valley Produce. Every smoothie and acai bowl at Moberi was blended by bike for over 2 years. After appearing on ABC’s Shark Tank in 2014, Moberi has since grown to three brick and mortar locations.

Today, their premium Acai Bowls are made to order in traditional Brazilian style with produce from the Pacific Northwest. Whether you’re looking for a post workout protein recovery or a light, but filling immunity boost, our smoothies have you covered.

Inspired by my younger sister who couldn’t have dairy, I began making plant-based ice cream in 2014. I founded Kate’s with one goal in mind: ice cream for everyone. We aim to provide access to plant-based and gluten-free desserts to all. At Kate’s we value making great ice cream by working with local makers and farmers. I hope these flavors change the way you think about ice cream and inspire you to share them with everyone.

Kate’s Ice Cream is made using organic coconut milk and is 100% plant-based and gluten-free. We focus on collaborations with local, woman, and minority owned businesses and use fresh seasonal produce from Pacific Northwest farms – all with the goal of making the absolute best ice cream.
